Autism Assessments for Adults
Have a sense that you may be autistic? Let’s find out!
Are You Autistic?
Do you have difficulty relating to others in group settings, on initial meeting or generally have a low interest in other people's perspectives? It's hard being told you're coming off as "rude" or "shy" when it may be simply not knowing how to respond or frankly not finding the content interesting or important enough to engage in. (I find small talk extremely useless and annoying and so depending on my energy level I may not engage at all)
Do you feel pressured to respond a certain way (smiling, laughing, etc) even when that may not match how you feel inside? Some autistic people (and especially girls/women) feel they have to present a certain way or face being misjudged. We may pretend to "get" something or agree or imitate others' emotions even if we don't feel it on the inside. Exhausting, right?
Do you engage in repetitive behaviors that feel soothing, calming or just plain enjoyable? Some examples: singing a piece of a song lyric over and over, rewatching a show or movie over and over, twirling your hair in the same rhythmic way or other possibly unnoticed movements like picking your cuticles or chewing your cheek.
Do you get told you're "inflexible" or things always have to be your way? Some autistic folks can have strong reactions to small changes, or their daily routine/order of tasks are very important to their mood and sense of wellbeing (yes, I do need THAT exact coffee mug and no other mug will be the same, thanks for asking!)
Do you wonder if everyone else can just "go with the flow" while transitions cause you stress, irritability and anger? It can be especially difficult for some of us to stop a preferred activity to start a non-preferred one- I very much dislike stopping in the middle of a chapter even though I know it's time to cook dinner.
Do you have intense interests that bring you extreme joy to engage in or think about? Do you get excited to talk about certain topics and could go on for hours? These don’t have to be limited to “weird” or “atypical” interests. Lots of girls/women have special interests that may not seem “odd”, though they do spend a lot of time engaging in or thinking about, or researching or doing something around the interest including pop culture or reading (one of mine is Disney stuff, especially Disneyworld!)
Does any of this resonate? Have you been considering you may be autistic? If you’d like to understand yourself better including your struggles, differences and strengths, then book your assessment today and get started!

You absolutely do not have to have one! I support self diagnosis as does the autistic community.
Some folks find it helpful, affirming, validating to put a formal diagnosis on their experience which has felt confusing and isolating for a long time.
It can help make sense out of a lifetime filled with confusing experiences, feeling othered and a general sense of not fitting in.
Whether you seek a formal diagnosis with me or someone else, your experience is still valid and you deserve understanding and accommodations.

This assessment and diagnosis process can be used for your own validation, to help provide insight to you, your loved ones or other folks who may benefit including your employer (if that feels right to you).
Please note this assessment and the results are not to be used for verifying a diagnosis for disability claims, SSI, etc. If you require government or official documentation, you may be more suited to get a diagnosis from a clinical psychologist.
